Welcome to the new-look Dealmakers newsletter from CurrentPartnering.
Partnering and M&A deals to continue to dominate the news as companies seek to raise funds and shore up pipelines.
A recent article at SeekingAlpha suggests the industry should be thinking P&A instead of M&A, in other words partnerships and acquisition to provide access to pipeline candidates, possibly with options to acquire later on.

March is also the start of the new 'partnering event season, with numerous events including BioEurope Spring, EuroPLX and BioWindhover in quick succession, followed by arguably the biggest partnering event of them all: BIO2009 Convention Business Forum. These are the places where deals will be done this spring, so if you are seeking partners get yourself booked in now - details of each event below.
Finally we have updated our M&A report to reflect this latest activity, incorporating deals up to and including end 2008 - more details below.
